The second line was laid as part of the Villupuram-Dindigul doubling project (273 km) that is being executed by the Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), a Government of India Enterprise. Divisional Railway Manager A.K. Agarwal, RVNL General Manager V.R. Naidu, and senior officers of the Tiruchi Railway Division were present at the time of commissioning, a Southern Railway release here said.
