Three Projects in Nepal to Be Developed with Indian Assistance

The Indian Embassy in Nepal and Nepal's Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration have inked Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) for the execution of three High Impact Community Development Projects (HICDPs) in Nepal.
The MoUs outline Indian assistance for projects in the education, health, and culture sectors, with a combined estimated cost of Nepali Rupees 122.52 million. These projects encompass the construction of school and hostel buildings for Shree Dang-Bang Secondary School in Airawati Rural Municipality, Pyuthan District; the construction of the Khamlalung Health Post Building in Aathrai Rural Municipality, Terhathum District; and infrastructure development in Chandan Bharateshwor Mahadev Temple in Chandragiri Municipality, Kathmandu.
The implementation of these projects will significantly improve education and healthcare facilities, fostering cultural ties between India and Nepal.
India has been actively involved in High Impact Development Projects (HICDPs) in Nepal since 2003, having undertaken over 550 projects. Out of these, 488 projects in areas such as health, education, drinking water, connectivity, sanitation, and public utilities have been successfully completed across all seven provinces of Nepal. The remaining 62 projects are currently ongoing and at various stages of implementation. The total cost of these projects amounts to around Nepali Rupees 1220 crores (Rs 762 crores), with implementation managed through local authorities of the Nepal Government.
The ongoing collaboration reflects the deep-rooted cooperation between India and Nepal, with a focus on enhancing the lives of the Nepali people and fortifying infrastructure in crucial sectors like education, health, and culture.
