Noida-based NexGen Energia has announced a bold initiative with a ₹15,000 crore investment plan to establish 5,000 green diesel and compressed biogas (CBG) pumps across India over the next decade. The company recently inaugurated its maiden CBG pump in Mau district, Uttar Pradesh, signaling its entry into executing engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services within the clean energy sector.

Chairman Piyush Dwivedi outlined the ambitious expansion, stating, "Our commitment to clean energy extends beyond this inaugural pump. We envision a phased rollout of 5,000 green diesel and CBG pumps nationwide, each costing approximately ₹3 crore. This represents a significant ₹15,000 crore investment in the green energy sector."

Dwivedi highlighted the broader socio-economic impact of the initiative, estimating it will create about 5,000 new entrepreneurs and provide employment opportunities for over 10 lakh individuals. "Our objective is to bolster India's self-reliance in green energy, aiming to reduce fuel imports by around 30%," he added.

The company aims not only to provide clean fuel but also to build robust infrastructure supporting sustainable transportation in India. This expansion is anticipated to attract substantial investments, stimulating economic growth.

Earlier this year, NexGen Energia's e-mobility arm, NGE, launched affordable two-wheeler electric vehicles starting at ₹36,999. The company targets exceeding ₹500 crore in sales this fiscal year, establishing over 500 dealerships, and generating approximately 50,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities in the EV sector.

Future plans include the introduction of electric trucks and buses, underscoring NexGen Energia's commitment to advancing sustainable mobility solutions.
