L&T Bags Rs5,689 crore contract from Rajasthan

Larsen & Toubro Ltd has won a Rs5,689 crore contract for setting up a 2 x 660 MW supercritical thermal power plant in Rajasthan.

The contract from Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd is on a complete EPC (engineering procurement and construction) basis..

The contract involves design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning of two coal-fired thermal units of 660 MW each with supercritical parameters, at Chhabra in Baran district of Rajasthan.

This is also the country's first complete EPC order for 2 x 660 MW supercritical units placed by a state utility on the private sector.
