Leighton Welspun bags $250 million contract from DLF

DLF has awarded a $250 million contract to Leighton Welspun Contractors, part of the Leighton Asia, India and Offshore Group for building its super luxury residential development 'The Camellias' in Gurgaon.

The project will be designed in the latest 5D computer modeling which will enable fast construction via the use of precast, post tensioning and off-site prefabrication of the mechanical services and finishing elements.

The construction, which will involve a combination of RCC framed structure, post-tensioned slabs and external GRC structures, will commence in the third quarter of 2013 and will be completed by third quarter of 2017 (46 months).

The Camellias will be spread over an area of 16.154 acres, with a tentative built up area of about 4.5 million sq ft. It will have 429 apartments, including 14 penthouses, a company statement said.
