IHC–Adani plan $25 billion investment across 14 projects in Odisha
The programme significantly expands the partnership between IHC and Adani in Odisha. A major component alreaAbu Dhabi-based International Holding Company (IHC) and India’s Adani Group have signed an agreement with the Government of Odisha to explore 14 major projects involving an indicative investment of around ₹2.1 trillion, or approximately $25 billion. The proposed developments span metal downstream industries, slurry pipelines, critical minerals and rare earths, chemicals and petrochemical derivatives, renewable energy equipment, healthcare, industrial infrastructure, tourism, skill developmdy under development is the $11.5 billion integrated greenfield aluminium project, being promoted by Adani Enterprises Ltd. and International Resources Holding (IRH), an IHC Group company, through a proposed 50:50 joint venture.
The aluminium complex will comprise a 4 MMTPA alumina refinery, 2 MMTPA aluminium smelter, 4,000 MW captive power plant and a 1 MMTPA downstream manufacturing park. The project is planned in two phases, with investments of about ₹66,000 crore in Phase I and ₹44,000 crore in Phase II. Proposed project locations include Rayagada district for the alumina refinery and Sundargarh district for the aluminium smelter.
Odisha has already moved the aluminium project forward by handing over documentation for more than 7,000 acres of land in Rayagada and Sundargarh.
The combined IHC–Adani investment pipeline could create major opportunities for EPC contractors, equipment manufacturers, power systems suppliers, mining and material-handling companies, logistics providers and downstream industries across Odisha.
