GMR club bids most for airport in Philippines.

A consortium involving Bangalore-based GMR Infrastructure Ltd. has emerged as the highest bidder for developing the Mactan-Cebu International Airport of Philippines. Led by Philippines-based construction company Megawide Construction, the consortium submitted a bid of 14.4 billion Philippine pesos (around $326 million), narrowly beating Filinvest-CAI consortium, which includes Singapore's Changi airport. The bids were opened by the department of transportation and communication recently. There were five more bidders in the fray.
GMR-Megawide's consortium has not officially won the project as there will be a further technical evaluation of the bids. However, with the highest bid, it is the front-runner to win the contract.
