"Centre to Approve Road Projects Worth ₹2,800 Crore in Tripura"

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is set to sanction projects worth ₹2,800 crore to improve connectivity in Tripura, according to an official statement released on Monday. The announcement was made during a review meeting chaired by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari at Vanijya Bhavan in New Delhi, which was also attended by Chief Minister Manik Saha, who oversees the Public Works Department (PWD).

The statement from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) highlighted discussions about eight specific projects earmarked for the northeastern state. These include ₹800 crore allocated for the Agartala Eastern Bypass, ₹1,500 crore for widening the Amtali to Tripura Sundari Temple road, ₹400 crore for developing the road from Ranirbazar to the interstate bus terminus (ISBT), and an additional ₹100 crore under the Central Road Fund (CRF).

Furthermore, the Chief Minister engaged in discussions regarding a new National Highway connecting Kamalpur to Gandacherra via Ambassa, as well as another route from Amarpur to Sabroom aimed at enhancing international trade and tourism.

The meeting also addressed plans for constructing a logistics park on the Eastern Bypass near Agartala, covering an area of 100 acres, and securing funds for restoring National Highways that were damaged by recent floods.
