Canada keen to step up investments in Tamil Nadu.

Canada is keen on investment opportunities in information technology, renewable energy and biotechnology in Tamil Nadu and strengthening its presence here in manufacturing sector, according to the Canadian Minister for Citizenship and Immigration, Chris Alexander.

An official press release from the State Government following a meeting of a delegation from Canada with the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, O Panneerselvam, at the Secretariat recently, said the the Canadian Minister said Tamil Nadu is one of the key locations with an investment friendly environment.

Canadian companies will participate in the Global Investors Meet planned by Tamil Nadu in May. They are also keen on expanding their presence in manufacturing sectors like automobile and auto components, agro and marine food processing and building partnerships in academics.

Panneerselvam, while inviting the Canadian Minister for the Global Investors Meet being organised by the State Government on May 23 and 24, highlighted emerging opportunities in Aerospace, Automobiles and Auto parts, electronic hardware, information technology, biotechnology, renewable energy and skill development, the release said.
