Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired the seventh meeting of the Island Development Agency (IDA), emphasizing the government’s commitment to advancing infrastructure development in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep. During the meeting, Shah underscored the importance of promoting solar and wind energy initiatives as key components of the islands’ sustainable development.

The meeting focused on accelerating the use of renewable energy to enhance the islands' energy independence and environmental sustainability.
